I nearly posted similar to threaded the other day, that the threat to oil supplies is by Middle Eastern countries is overrated because they need our cash even more than we need their oil.
Then I wondered if it was true. Maybe out addiction is so great that they could greatly reduce output, charge much higher prices and still have as much dosh. In the long term demand would diminish but it can't be turned off just like that.

That's just what OPEC was invented for.
But there's a limit. If we reduce demand drastically, we'll still need oil but we won't need their oil. Game over for OPEC.
