    Fact 1

    Due to gravitational effects, your weigh slightly less when the moon is directly overhead. So plan your trips to Weight Watchers accordingly.

                    You also weight less:
                    • at the equator due to centrifugal force (the one physics newbies delight in thinking doesn't exist)
                    • in humid weather due to the increased density of the atmosphere
                    • underwater
                    • when you jump in the air (from the moment you leave the floor, on both the upwards and downward paths, zero)
                    • when inside a uniform spherical shell of a planet
                    • on the surface than at 600km or so below it, because the earth is denser there
