I subscribe to a Jobserve email feed, all jobs sent instantly.
Have exactly the same criteria on another search, set up as a RSS feed.

Lately got more and more depressed with the lack of emails.. start to panic about recession never ending .. only to glance today at the RSS feed and there are loads more jobs than I get on email .. about 75% of my emails go randomly astray!

Anyone else get this?

Some of mine turn up in my junk folder, for reasons I haven't looking into. Have you looked there?
The email feed is often very slow for me, but that shouldn't make a difference over enough time. I may well have corrected that in their settings anyway

If they're not in your spam folder, it could be your ISP's spam filter removing them before you even download them.............I have an old btinternet email account and they seem very over-zealous.

Own mailserver, no filtering. Very odd

I have been rather surprised by the lack of certain emails recently and I have just checked jobserve. Some of my searches are coming up with jobs posted in the last 24 hours but I have not received an email. Even the searches that are apparently working are not producing the number of emails I would normally expect.

And yes, I have checked that BT haven't re-enable my spam folder.

As has been said, odd.

Hello Alan. Thanks for your comment.

By comparing the time quoted on the advertisements to the time I receive the emails, my emails, since at least the start of November, have been delayed up up to 12 hours. Advertisements posted during the day have been arriving during the night. However, good news, this morning, advertisement to email is now down to under 5 minutes.

I posted a similar comment (http://forums.contractoruk.com/general/54910-jobserve-email-alerts-delay.html) on the enormous email feed delay on here some time back. Subsequent to that I did find a feed setting that could be changed in Jobserve, but I can't remember whether it helped or not. If it was the latter setting that needed diddling, perhaps they defaulted the feed delay to something ridiculously large at some time in the near past?

Hi,

Long time lurker here

I am back in the contract market after a long permanent placement and set up an alert for Jobserve to send me all relevant roles daily. I found it strange that I was never getting more than 50 roles per day being emailed and asked about it. This was my reply:

Hi,

The saved search emails use your activity on the site to determine the number of result. As you have not been made any application on your profile, the number of jobs sent through has been lowered.

The subscription is there for active candidates who are using our site to apply for jobs, the best way to become an active candidate again is to apply for adverts whilst logged into your profile. This will increase your result to the full quota.

Kind Regards,

Help Desk Co-ordinator

So seems that unless you have a history of applying for roles you will not see all the ones that are posted. Could be that some of you are being limited in the same way? To be honest I gave up on the email alerts!

If that is true then that makes a mockery of the service provided. Surely a better idea would be to send out emails stating that email alerts will be suspended. I for one don't want all the emails when I am in work and deactivate a number during this period, only receiving notification of very specialist roles.
