    Colditz (TV series)

Back in Blightly until New Year, and getting rather dismayed by the available TV offerings.

Suddenly discovered Colditz (circa. 1972/3) was being shown on the 'Yesterday' channel.

There's also a box set of DVDs available. About time too!

Anyone remember watching this the first time around?

It was all, more or less, based on fact, with a bit of dramatic license here and there. All the esape plots are based on actual (or attempted) escapes. The main protagonists are usually easily identifiable with their real life counterparts.

Best thing is, there is no incidental music, which makes the dialog and action even more powerful.

    I love it. Brilliant stuff.

You've come right out the other side of the forest of irony and ended up in the desert of wrong.

Not seen Colditz, but "Edwardian Farm" is on on BBC2 at the moment and it is quite fascinating.

Yes, we discovered this a while back and the box has been set to record it ever since.
            Good stuff.

Yes I liked all of those, with the possible exception of The Onedin Line which my mum and sister used to be rivetted to, but it bored the arse off me.

No, David McCallum was in it as was Robert Wagner.
