    DFS Sofa Thread - Watchdog

Did anyone see Watchdog this evening.

They had a good five minutes on DFS and on how they sold insurance & special Fabric stain protection for sofas that couldn't actually be protected by it.

Why on earth you would be suckered into paying an extra £150 on top of a 12 week delivery & fake leather sofa I have no idea.

But for those interested sounds like a con.

If I split a drink on my sofa I find that ermine wipes down quite nicely.

Sas had stain protection on his sofa, but they cancelled his policy after having to replace the fabric 3 times in 2 weeks.

I think only one end was dribble.

I guess if he used SKA to search for porn, the stains probably were all dribble since it wouldn't be able to handle such a complex search.

Quite so. Nearly all product insurances are a waste of money, 30% or more of cost price pa for a pretty low risk is daft. In the case of electrical goods, if they are going to go wrong it will be early on due to preexisting fault/weekness and covered by warranty.
