    Sports Personality of the Year

    Shortlist announced

    Mark Cavendish
    Tom Daley
    Jessica Ennis
    David Haye
    AP McCoy
    Graeme McDowell
    Graeme Swann
    Phil Taylor
    Lee Westwood
    Amy Williams

    Is that it?

How many of those names can you place against their events even? I managed five although one of those was for someone who plays a pub game not a sport.

I called Ryan Giggs correctly last year. I'm not so confident about this one. I think the racing fraternity might back their boy this year so I'm going for Tony McCoy.

And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Amy Williams won a gold medal at the winter olympics.

        She is also quite gorgeous.

Maybe we should suggest this to the BBC as an additional category they could add to the show. Shortlist of five to model an outfit of their choice live on air with a phone-in vote during the show.

Amy williams slides down hills on a tea tray. Gold medal.

I think McDowell should win this. First UK major winner for 11 years, AND holed the putt that won the Ryder Cup.

Trouble is, there will be online campaigns for the bloke who plays darts and Tony McKoy, like there was for Giggsy last year.

I'm surprised and disappointed Beth Tweddle isn't listed. It's not often we get a gymnastic world champion, let alone a three-time one.

Not very telegenic though is she? Looks like she's been whacked with the ugly stick a few times.

Never mind that, look what she can do with her legs.
