    Gatwick Closed

Closed till 6 am on Thursday. What is it with this country? A little bit of snow and the whole place grinds to a halt.

Gatwick Airport | Parking, Hotels, Flight Information & Duty Free
Rule Number 1 - Assuming that you have a valid contract in place always try to get your poo onto your timesheet, provided that the timesheet is valid for your current contract and covers the period of time that you are billing for.

    I preferred version 1!

It's because half the staff have not turned up!

Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

The darn builders who were digging out the foundation for our conservatory haven't turned up either. It used to be much better before all this socialist nonsense kicked off 150 years ago, common people need the threat of starvation to motivate them.

PS You get some odd behaviour in snow. Yet again the old chap next door has dug out two neat tracks for his car to the end of his drive. He doesn't actually go out in his car, just digs the tracks for it.

My FWD made the 90 mile trip to Client Co at Gatwick bypassing 4x4s who were stuck getting up slopes. It’s down to driver training and experience. Loads of permies living with a couple of miles did not turn up.

How crap is that - how much snow is on the ground round there?

I'm staying near Beaconsfield and there is literally nothing!

10 miles east of GWA and there's 6" on my oil tank and still falling.

Think I might construct some giant wooden claws and leave prints everywhere tonight. Our godless society needs to think the devil is back.

Average about one foot but some drifts up to 3 feet. Many roads have packed ice

IMO they're the sensible ones, unless the main roads are being kept in good nick. There's a bit of macho pride involved by those proving they can get through snow. Most people don't know how to drive on ice/snow or have the right tyres, admitting this is braver than trying to prove a point. Generally anyway, if you have serious snow experience then fair enough.
