FOREST online petition against EU tobacco restrictions

Anyone interested in signing this online petition can do here, until 17th december, and if you're interested in preserving personal freedom of choice please spread the word.

And before glibly laughing it off and claiming to approve of these health Nazis' proposals, it's worth bearing in mind that sooner or later they'll want to restrict or ban something you do care about!

Remember, campaigners like these EU fascists will never never stop - One victory just means they can move onto the next thing. It's what they do.

No way, smoking is a leading preventable cause of death, it should be totally hidden under the counter and taxed double what it is now.

How typical - I might have known you'd completely miss the point.

The point is they want to use policies to reduce smoking and therefore serious illness and early death. I agree with them. Don't disguise it as a point about the EU being fascists.

Do you think it would be good if the EU rationed alcohol, and/or doubled the tax on it?

Those guys have a firm opinion on everything, and a willingness (insatiable urge actually) to impose it, and it won't always match yours!

But sometimes it will. This is one of those times.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

I don´t agree with more restrictions on smoking, as I think it´s a personal choice. However, I also don´t agree with calling the campaigners 'fascists'.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

Why? If someone is fully aware of the health implications yet still chooses to smoke, why not just let them? Surely it's up to him if he's not overly concerned with the impact on his lifespan?

Why do you see the need to impose your own choices on others?
You won't be alerting anyone to anything with a mouthful of mixed seeds.

So as long as it's something you agree with, you're happy for your will to be imposed on other people. What happens when it's them imposing their will upon you?

Addiction. You might choose to smoke, but to give up isn't as easy.
