    Leaning Tower of Pisa restoration ends

    An eight-year project to restore the stonework of the 837-year-old Leaning Tower of Pisa in Italy to its former glory is nearing completion.

    I don't know what's going on here, but the statue doesn't look too impressed. Not an image for Dr Who fans.

      It's one hell of an impressive sight up close and the view from the top is equally impressive. I was really glad that it was open when I toured Italy in 2008.

        I vaguely recall having some doubts about going in it when I visited many years ago.
