    Another misguided government internet initiative

BBC News - Internet porn block 'not possible' say ISPs

"Government plans to block porn at source not possible"

But what I really want to know is why is the article illustrated with a picture of a cheese grater?
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

He actually goes on to say the real reason: it is not cost effective to block the number one use of the WWW and the likes of BT and others that give MPs shares and directorships would lose money.

Because it was tagged with "sieve" on the photographic images library:

The offering to revilement off admittance to pornographic touchable was floated by Culture Minister Ed Vaizey in an discourse with the Sunday Times.
The polity is conversation to ISPs to set up a gathering at which the offering module be discussed.
But, feature experts, theoretical challenges mean whatever super bit filtering grouping is doomed to failure.
nicked the link to the image as well.

Surely blocking porn at source would involve making the women put their clothes on, or something? Blocking it at the ISP clearly isn't "at source", unless the government are so misguided they think the ISPs are the ones making the porn.

Nuking the whole planet from orbit is the only way to be sure porn is blocked at the source and all children of Earth are safe from it.

The GF had to treat a patient who had taken to a cheese grater to his... aye, makes me wince even thinking about it.

It was the slicing side, not the grating side.

                Why?!?!

Whereas a sieve would have been completely different.

Children should probably be protected from this sort of thing:
