    Xmas Doctor Who Thread

Did anyone catch the Doctor Who Xmas special.

Pretty good I thought. Looked like it was going to be pants, but once up and running was a pretty good episode. Well acted and with a nice twist as well as the usual humour.

In fact, I reckon that was the best Xmas special to date. Moffat never fails to impress.

Sorry MF, we at SY01 towers felt it was pants.

I gave upon it halfway through the last series, I'm afraid. Piss-poor acting was the main reason.

I thought it was rubbish. My son's an avid Doctor Who fan and he got bored halfway through and started playing his PSP.

I thought it was pretty good, not enough Amy Pond though.

Tennant was a tough act to follow, I never thought I'd end up actually preferring Matt Smith.

I quite enjoyed it. For me the modern Dr Who became unwatchable when they hired that scottish "actor", so I haven't seen any for a couple of years, but this wasn't bad at all.

On the basis that Christmas episodes are always the worst episodes of any TV series, I might well give some future episodes a chance.

Same here, Mr Smith isn't bad, but Ms Gillan is a tad "children's tv presenter" .

                    Exactly.

It lost me halfway through the David Tennant tenure. It all got too overblown and the stories got more and more silly. Plus revisiting the same monsters all the time just to sell more toys. Epic fail.
