    Declaring yourself Bankrupt

It is now looking likely after 11 years contracting that I will be out of a job end of this month.
With a whack of Corp tax. to pay on the day am tempted to empty my accounts and go bankrupt if there is no sign of contract work?

    Good idea or not?

    Brill idea. Go for it.
Practically perfect in every way....there's a time and (more importantly) a place for malarkey.

Dumbest thing I've heard on CUK for some time.

And there are some dumb people on here.

Yep it's a brilliant idea. You can reap the benefits from your cell.

Spend the cash on a flight to Panama and rent a canoe.

I hear Ford Prison is nice. Lots to drink, and a roaring fire to keep you warm. Go for it.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I suggest you apply for as many credit cards and loans as possible blowing the cash in an orgiastic rampage of drugs, drinks and cheap sex.

                    In for a penny .
