    Lasik

Anyone here had Lasik eye surgery?

Everyone I've met that has had it done has had a complete success, but none of them spend 10 hours plus a day in front of a computer.

Who knows, if I ditch the specs the sandals could be next...

I'm sure there is a lot of success in this field, but it only takes one small mistake. I personally will carry on wearing glasses rather than have a laser near my eyes.

Had it done last October and it is the best thing I have ever done.

Still slightly myopic but will have this corrected in March.

I sit in front of a screen for 8 hours a day and no problems.

Had mine done from Ultralase nearly 3 years ago and had no real probs so far. Was quite short sighted at -5.50 approximately. Used to wear contact lens all the time as I'm not the usual run-off-the-mill type nerd that most IT personnel are

It's near as perfect but every so often my eyes get tired and difficult to focus -- but then again I do spend approx. 12 hours a day on a PC or watching TV etc etc. Also your eyes will always be dry in the morning until you get up and wash your face, or force a couple of tears out.

I'd recommend not going for the cheapest option, instead go with a proven reputable surgery and also go for the latest technique (where they "map" the eye before lasering it).

It does hurt, but not like real pain, more like a numbing pain in the eyes for a day or so.

Definately recommended, made my life a lot easier.

Now I can wake up, see the clock, I can go out without worrying about lens or glasses, I can swim (not that i do), etc etc, all those things the girls in the panty-liner ads do!

I believe the failure rate is 1.5% - 5%. That's not quite good enough for me. I'll keep using daily disposable contact lenses.

"prescription" .... did one of your glasses lens fall out?

I think Lasik can "cure" eyes up to -12.5 or something.
