Damn, I don't know how to vote in my own poll I need a "don't know" option, as the AndW option is a touch more harshly expressed than my views.

I don’t think that choosing between one of two parties every five years and then letting the banks dictate policy is democracy either.

In Cuba there is no democracy at the head of government but there is a lot more than the UK at local level.

I don’t agree with GW on a lot of issues but he is a straight talker and I admire that.

I have came across Gorgeous George a few times, he is a political dreamer with a quick and occasionally nasty turn of phrase. When the first gulf was was about to kick off he came to my uni and did a speech how Saddam was not such a bad guy and how Kuwait was ruled by one family which set them up as ripe for invasion.

Labour in the West of Scotland used to run like an in power communist party, as they had nobody else competing against them they could basically say or do as they wished, this lead to massive infighting and firebrand politicians. He is so out of touch he really has nothing to offer the country or a constituency any more. HE will no doubt be an MSP soon.

          Indeed.

Say they probably won't have to obtain panning permission to change some things in a house, and even if it is required they can buy it via bribe.

That's democracy a la Paddy innit?

More to the point - Galloway is the right - in any of those countries that he likes so much he'd be already long in prison or dead if he said so much as half a word as he does here against ruling regime, THATS democracy - he can spew his bollox in the UK safe in knowledge he won't end up in prison for it.

That's how planning decisions get made in many councils in the UK, I'm afraid.

Galloway has a few skills that a lot of the brainy types here lack. Not only is he brainy, but he is eloquent, strong willed and convinced.
Of course, as AtW says, he is also wrong, misguided and foolish.

There is an ailment around that causes some sort of post modern angst, self revulsion and guilt. We are so well off and doing well that we must be guilty of some horrendous injustice. It's what drives the political correctness, the greens and the Galloways

whats the answer ? a few grams of lead probbly. in the ear

It's hard to find a man that is all bad. Even Adolf loved his dog.

Apart from Tony. Did he play the flute ?
