Irish government of the brink

Government faces key vote on Finance Bill - RT News

There's an election slated for February anyway, but if they can't get their Finance Bill through a key vote today, there will be all kinds of chaos. Come on Ireland! Wipe out the bond holders and don't sell your kids into perpetual debt servitude.

We were home at the weekend and one of the tabloid papers had a big 2 page spread of pictures of the cabinet in it - all with titles underneath like "gobtulipe" "moron" "idiot" thick"

They really need to sit down with a nice cup of tea and stop getting worked up about being just about as bankrupt as the rest of Europe. Perhaps Britain could donate some digestive biscuits to the cause.

I love the term Biffo for Brian Cowen (Big Ignorant Fecker from Offaly). They really need a 'pop-up' political party called 'can't pay won't pay' to stand candidates on a platform of:

Renege on all national debt.
Renege on all nationalised bank debt.
Pursue property developers' wealth, including retrospective legislation and international arrest warrants for those who've disposed of assets to the missus.
Disband and hold an election.

There have always been BIffo's - just no one ever thought one would run the country (or not!)

Well, you know, that's what happens when you decide to go it alone. You could have stayed within the warm embrace of Her Britannic Majesty's Empire and you could pay back all the debts with potatoes, but no, you had to go it alone, we did try to warn you etc etc...

Does make you think about Alex Salmond's plan (amusingly still on SNP website: Scotland can Join Europe's Arc of Prosperity | SNP - Scottish National Party )

'SNP Leader Alex Salmond has today called for Scotland to join northern Europe's arc of prosperity, with Ireland to the west, Iceland to the north and Norway to the east all small independent countries in the top six richest nations in the world.'

Why would the Norwegians want anything to do with a bunch of bankrupts?
