    Tunis and now Egypt

    tulip, couple of weeks ago it was Tunis,

    now it's kicking off in Egypt

    they've shutdown the internet over there and also the mobile phone networks !

      I find all this more than a little worrying. Is there not the likelyhood that when the secular governments are toppled, the way is paved for the Islamic extremists to make their move for power?

                The opposite. They have been in a civil war for over 20 years; the split should stop it.

                    I suspect the backward countries like Yemen may, people in the more prosperous ones like Tunisia and Algeria won't want it. Educated better off people have less need of religion.
