    Going Veggie

Something I have been building up to for a while and for the simple reason I have very little confidence that what animal I have placed in front of me to eat has had decent life or a dignified slaughter.

    *expects a slaughtering*

Eat venison or go to a farm where you can see the animals (my sister gets her chickens from a local farm). I'm sure it's possible to get meat from an animal that's been well treated and killed humanely (and not transported across half the country).

Well done for thinking about it though.

I think I should have a part in the slaughtering process of an animal to realise what the beast is giving before I eat it. 99% of people who go in a slaughter house would be vegetarian in the first minute.

I'd second that. Care to rear some animals and supervise the slaughtering / butchering and share the spoils?

My boning (no sniggering up the back of the class) skills are not what they used to be.

            Made me think. So thanks.
Also reminded me of a joke.

Man being interviewed by local TV crew, after his pet sheep saved them from their house burning down.
The sheep called 999, reported the incident, and one by one firemans lifted them outside into the street and to safety. And all with only 3 legs!
"Why has the sheep only got 3 legs?" asks the news reporter.
"Well, with a sheep that clever, we didn't want to eat it all at once".

No they wouldn't, they'd just have to be really hungry to slaughter their own meat. Disassociating what you see from what you buy in the supermarket would be easy.
