    so let's get this right....

people are fighting for their jobs

    inflation is high

    wages are not rising

    cost of living is rising

    disposable incomes are falling

    and income tax is rising

how is the economy and spending going to recover in the face if this kind of help ?

    Oh Dear

But it's ok cos the banks are making loads :-)

Yup, can't tax the banks so tax the middle class instead. Besides there's so many of them and they have no political power.

Remember, we the people voted these guys in.

BoE says this 2 year long rise in inflation is "just a blip".

You saying they is lying to us?

This is just so depressing. Even the despotic regimes in the Middle East treat their citizens far better - they pay little or no tax at all.

Yeah, perhaps a genteel dictatorship would be better than this.

There are winners (bankers and the super rich), and there are losers (the middle income workers).

            It all balances out nicely.

              Winners and whiners

Some of those daily mail commenters seem to think people on high incomes are on high incomes because of 'luck' and that they're on low incomes because someone is forcing them to be..

                  Exactly!

Think of all those cushy public sector workers soon to be on the dole. They won't be paying 40% tax anymore!

They probably won't be paying any tax any more.

But they should cost the country a lot less when you compare the dole with what they were getting.
