        That confirms you're a wind up merchant/sockie troll, there's no way an Agent would offer a rate hike without at least a prompt and I can't see a client increasing the budget without a good reason.

                  Well....

                  Not a sockie - client really happy and they spoke to me directly, negating the agent. I have helped them out above the call of duty - saved them a quite few quid. I also got an Xmas bonus which I thought was odd...

                    I've had an unrequested rate hike before.
                    Although it was my second contract and I think the agency were taking the piss with their cut. Their offer to increase my rate was also possibly a pre-emptive move against me demanding a higher increase.
