Yuck, supermarket bacon is too thin, pumped full of water and isn't worthy of the name bacon.

I buy bacon at a local butchers, it's dry cured (smoked or unsmoked) locally, sliced to my specifications and only costs about 10% more. That's real bacon

I went into the city centre for the first time in ages this afternoon, and paid a visit to an excellent pork butcher there. Fine sausages and smoked bacon are now nestling in my fridge, awaiting my attentions on the morrow

True, the nearest you can get outside of specialist suppliers is usually called Canadian bacon, it's still not good.
