    US treasury secretary...

...calls Brown a dunce (who fuelled the financial crisis in so many words) and Osborn a genius, and also alludes to the fact that we've grabbed more than our fair share of banking.

I remember Brown chasing Obama through a New York hotel kitchen to try and have a word when the president "couldn't find time" for a proper summit meeting.

That's how much the yanks thought of that particular prime minister.

The funny thing is, Brown has been blaming the Yanks for the financial crisis for years.

And everyone must remember the veterans' gathering in Normandy a year or two ago.

Brown couldn't care less, and wasn't planning to go, until the US President suddenly announced he would attend. Brown instantly changed his plans, and it turned out he would be able to find time after all.

Utterly pathetic, and shows what kind of guy he is.

Somebody's still bitter about Brown and Darling telling Hank Paulson and Tim Geithner that Britain didn't want to "import their cancer" over the Lehman's deal then.
