See todays front page article on the Revenue clamping down on tax evasion......

"The new whistle-blowing hotline to oust suspected tax dodgers is 0800 788 887; lines are open seven days a week.

A Revenue spokeswoman added: “If you have trouble getting through on the number you can make a report by going to our website, at www.hmrc.gov.uk/hotline"

So are you going to be snitching on Tessa Jowell's hubby or Phillip Greene?

How much you want to bet new greif tactic for contactor hating permies will be to shop the contractor to hector via this? Regardless of the contractor actually doing anything or not

So then if you're a contractor Hector will think you're a tax dodger? And the new part of this is?

The point was made that if you made tax avoidance schemes more costly than just paying your tax then you will find more of the rich scum actually paying up in the first place.

Then again that Phillip Green geezer is a bit of a have though since he has already paid company tax* on the profits of his businesses...so I guess he could argue why pay tax twice on the same thing?

            Mailman

*Assuming he actually pays company tax in the first place!

Quite simply nobody gives a tulip about us so we are an easy target. I believe we are also the thin end o fthe wedge which will eventualy be hammered home against other soft targets.

Footballers and pop stars have massive fan bases and there would be uproar if they left in their droves never to perform in the UK again.

Come on, which of you shed a tear that "The Lone Gunman" went abroad?
I am not qualified to give the above advice!

Because the income that they funnel through this channel is their sponsorship money, which usually dwarfs their earning for kicking the ball by a large factor. The money that the club pays them for turning up once a week is paid as salary and taxed as you or I would be.

This offshore route only works for the foreign players due to the non-dom rules. They tried it for the UK based players, got caught and were given a big bill to pay. Frankly this non-dom rule should go, no other developed country (except Ireland) has it.
