Well I never saw this coming!

2,000 Land Rovers a year to be built in India but bosses insist it's not to exploit cheap labour | Mail Online

Jaguar Land Rover is to start building 2,000 vehicles a year in India, the company announced yesterday.
It will start its overseas production drive with the Land Rover Freelander 4x4, but Indian bosses made clear that other Land Rover and Jaguar models are set to follow.

The luxury and sports car company is now owned by the giant Indian industrial conglomerate Tata, which also owns Corus Steel and Tetley tea.

Well its totally deserved. Us Brits sit around lazing and posting bollux on internet forums while the Bobs beaver away.
Obvious who's going to win in the long run, innit?
        Hard Brexit now!

If the cost to produce is, say for example, a tenth of what it costs elsewhere, then provided the cost of the vehicle decreases commensurately so more can afford it, then why not ?

However, I have a feeling that the savings will not be passed on to the end customer.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.

Brilliant! All the unemployed Jaguar workers will be able to afford one then!

Well if they move production to India as planned, what will happen to all the existing Jaguar / Land Rover workers?

                Unemployment.

But as you say, if the cost cutting is passed onto the customer (), at least they will be able to afford one.
