    FFS - Bloody Crosstrainer

Just spent 2 hours putting together a cross trainer I bought online.

Bloody thing wouldn't fit together well and took an hour longer than usual. Was a bloody workout doing it.

Got it set. Moved to the corner of the room.

Got on it, did one push and both the ******* foot pedals snapped!!!!

    It's got a weight limit, that I am under (250lbs), I'm 240lbs.

I think you might need a new set of scales.

      They're broken.

In addition, dusted down the bike for the first time this year. It was a little shabby at the end of last year. Got on, buckled the wheel.

They don't make anything to last these days. Now going to buy a new bike as well.

Mine's got welds everywhere. Any but the most expensive cross trainers are a waste of money unless you have welding equipment. 2 1/2" diameter tube looks unbreakable but flex it a few times a week for a year and it breaks. You don't have to be Hercules.

Does welding require a lot of expensive equipment and scuba diving sized gas bottles?

Not really, mine's a 30 year old arc welder I got from Halfords. Never found it much good for car bodywork, too fierce, but it's great for thicker stuff like cross trainers.

Yep, I wouldn't spend any less than £500... my horizon fitness one has been going strong for 4 years now.
