    wearing a short sleeved shirt and a tie?!

    (This annoys me more than when I worked with a bunch of scientist who would regularly wear sandals with socks on)

      shorts with socks beats it, in fact both looks are very popular in the US.

                    I have to agree with that:
                    Also they do not seem to offer any support as 99% of people wearing them seem to either have feet to wide for the sole or the boot just saggs down around the ankles
