    Day out in London...

    Any recommendations?

Arrive about 9.30 want to spend the whole day up to around 6ish.

Give her a good run out - she's more docile when sleepy.

    NOT revolving around 'just' food!

    Dog, car or wife?
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

You haven't really given enough information so generic advice is:

If it's with a female then let her choose where she wants to go shopping.

Otherwise have a look at one of these Places To Go in London - Visit London

Something a bit different - not too weird.

Have you considered taking her up the oxo tower?

              Not food related.

              OH! I see...

I think you are off better trying to find out what she is interested in.

Due to the amount of shops in London popping into one for 2 hours then going somewhere interesting will keep her happy. Plus the larger department stores have cafes.

Most of the attractions in London unless you are in a school party or on a tour will keep the average person occupied for about 2-3 hours.

                    Do the tourist thing.

                    London Dungeon
                    Tower of London
                    Tussards
Wheel? (not sure if you discounted that)
                    or maybe a show
                    Tea at the ritz

Assuming you're a Northerner though, you could just show her the metal tubes that go under the ground and that electrickery thing. She'll be blown away by those.
