    oh great - another war

I suppose all the money we've saved this year will about pay for at least some of it.

But it is in our national interest, hmmm wonder what that could be...

Not exactly "another war" though is it?
Some of our planes will go flying with live missiles on board. They do that anyway. The only potential overhead is that they may use a few extra bits of hardware killing Gaddafis' Camel Jockeys if they get a bit uppity with the rebels. And that relatively small financial cost will need to be offset against the obvious military experience gained in this "Live Firing" Exercise.

The French fired the first salvo, uck a duck.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

They always do. If anyone fires back the French will be hiding in an a base in Quebec before you can say 'Vietnam'!

              It is basically a war:

It's no different to the First Iraq War which was as legitimate as it can get. Second one however was certainly not legitimate as no specific UN resolution was adopted and old ones did not cover it.

Well of course that is a real game-changer. A couple of hair-splitting lentil-munching peaceniks proclaim there is no difference between a no-fly zone and a full-blown land invasion, and muppets like you immediately jump onto their bandwagon.

Why not try thinking it through for yourself for once?

Have you actually read the links? In particular the second one, which quotes the text of the UN resolution?
