    Just out of interest:
The AA state that the UK average (as of 18.03.11) on fuel is unleaded £1.33 & Diesel £1.39 so what is the rough average (mean) you pay for your fuel.

    Essex: Diesel £1.37

I passed a station last night which had £1.41 point something in Birmingham, but the local micro economy is booming here with such recent business successes as SKA skewing the local economy.

I normally pay £14 a day for my diesel daily hack.

I am now suffering a Nissan Cube, with non existant aerodynamics, shaking away with cruise control on at 80 trying to eek out less than £30 a day petrol costs.

          Feeling rather royally reamed.

            Slow down.

Move closer to your permy job.

But most importantly, stop whinging. You made the decision to live in Wilmslow and work in Bradford.

If you can't afford the commute then tough sh!t.

I actually enjoy the commute in the main - just under an hour with the negoriated working hours, and stunning scenery. As the roof is all glass, I was bathed in lovely morning sunshine with the radio cranked up loud! Just getting rather hacked off at the sudden rise in fuel. I was spending around £8 when I started the job, but £30 - !!!!!!!!!! May well drive like a granny with the trucks tomorrow. Can't wait to get my car back, makes £14 look rather reasonable.

I remember buying my car a couple of years back and thought that 1.24 was dire, then it dropped right off to 90p, now we are getting fooked at 1.40.
