    Scanner

    Hi all

Im looking for a cheap but reliable scanner. All I will be using it for is scanning timesheets and sending the odd bit of paperwork to my accountant. Any suggestions?

Might even consider a combined printer and scanner if such a thing exists?

    Many thanks in advance

Combined A4 flatbed scanners and printers have been around for years, I've got a cheapo HP inkjet one that works absolutely fine. I think I paid about £40 for it from Staples. For that matter I think a lot of the small office inkjet and laser printers have scanners built in.
Scans and prints well, can be used as a photocopier and the ink isn't prohibitively expensive.
Do a bit of shopping around on office and IT supplier sites and you will find dozens of options at whatever price point you pick.

A combined scanner/printer also means you have a photocopier, which is a handy thing to have. I had a Lexmark one, which broke after a couple of years, and now have a Cannon one. Not sure I'd recommend either, but they did work and neither cost more than £30 from Currys.
Will work inside IR35. Or for food.

I just wanted to use the facepalm smiley and this seemed perfect.

It's like the guy has never been into Currys/dixons/pc world/comet/john lewis or any other electrical store.

In fact I question how they're even able to post on the internet in the first place.

If you really want cheap, you'll only be doing the occasional document, and you own a smart phone, why not just photograph the document and email it? I've done that when away from home and it works just as well as a scanner.

Now, will somebody please explain the term smart phone....
