    TUC march on London

    "We want our handouts back!"

Anti-cuts march: Tens of thousands at London protest

But why the surprise at the vandalism and hooliganism? Everyone knew ages in advance it was going to happen.

More than 250,000 people have attended a march and rally in central London against public spending cuts.

        ...

The march began at 1200 GMT and it took more than four hours for the protesters to file past the Houses of Parliament on their way to the park.
And from 2002, Huge turnout for countryside march:

Around 400,000 people from across the country have marched through central London to highlight the needs of rural communities.

Crowds were so big it took people queuing at the start of the official route more than six hours to filter through, according to police.
        No violence that time.

400,000 people protesting should have sent a strong message to the government. Instead the 200 or so 'rent a mob' idiots get all the headlines.

I can see why some people have a 'beef' with Philip Green and his reluctance to pay any personal tax but I saw a guy spray 'Class War' across the front of Ann Summers.

I didn't know the working class found saucy undies so abhorrent.

Isn't it about time we organised a taxpayers' pro-cuts protest, on the grounds the cuts aren't going far or fast enough?

Anyone up for it? What does one have to do? Just tell the police and then turn up in our millions?
