Light bulbs are just the beginning.

Apparently, all new houses will need to be near zero energy buildings by EU diktat as of 2020.

Germany gets it's first Green State Prime Minister after the state elections on Sunday. I think we're going to see Germany replace Atomic power stations with renewables now within 10 years.

    God help Europe.

Not a bad thing surely? Despite my AGW scepticism I don't like throwing away energy needlessly and it's not as if the technology doesn't exist.

If you live in a country that doesn't make anything and all your young people are unemployed and in reality unemployable, why do we need energy?

Everyone should be forced to live in caves. They are Carbon neutral.

          Ugg.

I think what the EU diktat means is more buildings like this.

                    Zero carbon building

I imagine a wooden underheated building like that probably stinks because of the mould and wood rot.

Personally I think a cave would be more comfortable.
