    Neds

So WTF is all this about then?

What happens in General, stays in General.
You know what they say about assumptions!

It appears to be about growing up in '70s Glasgow. Looks quite good I thought.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

Looks good. About time some decent films came out and channel 4 seem to generally get it right.

Good friend of mine worked on the film and is totally livid it never even got a mention at the baftas while it gained the best film award at the San Sebastian Film Festival. THe GF went to that school (St Lourdes) and ended up with a degree in medicine, far worse places in Glasgow to live in.

            Neds are like chavs in Scotland. I lived up there for 10 year and loved it! Here's a quick glossary;

            Scheme - Council Estate

Where do you stay? - Where do you live?

Kenwaramin? - Do you understand what I mean?

Flids - Floods - not Thalidomide Victims as I thought!

            Brig - Bridge

Pint o' heavy - Pint of Bitter

            A Poon shot - a pound's worth of Whisky

            Blether - chat/talk

            Greetin' - crying

            Guisin' - Trick or Treating

            Jag - Injection, Jab...

            A Wee Malky - A headbut

Buckie - Buckfast Abbey Tonic Wine - vile stuff

            Wynd - Narrow side Street

            I'll think of some more!

Confirm link is A1 quality and the film is A1 too.

Check out too 2002's The Magdelene Sisters also by Mullen, filmed in the village I lived in at the time (Moniaive, Dumfries and Galloway) and in and around Dumfries, shocking indictment.

You forgot "Chib". Any good "weegie" should be able to cunjugate the verb "to chib" and the more educated ones to do so in latin.
