The future is looking a bit less rosy

Sound of sex could alert internet porn filter - tech - 20 May 2011 - New Scientist

I would have thought they could use Shazam! and flag up anything vaguely "carpet on the walls" 70s jazz funk.

Still, 10/10 for getting a grant to trawl the internet looking for suitable moaning sounds to test with.
While you're waiting, read the free novel we sent you. It's a Spanish story about a guy named 'Manual.'

What would you use sucha grant, create some AI bot to automate your sockies?

This tech can make £££ to uni as it can license technology to firms that specialise in software filters designed to remove adult material, pretty big market and higher accuracy is what will sell the product. So 10/10 for good job.

Meanwhile you'll be stuck in your boring job posting tulip on CUK.

            I don't have any sockies.

I would use the grant to research reconfigurable computing devices for asynchronous computing i.e. clockless FPGAs.

That sure beats what that guy did by a long shot.

A chap from an HR consultancy once told me he'd seen a company firewall that kicked in when a screen displayed more than a certain percentage of flesh colours. And that one of the guys there had a preference for vintage 60s black-and-white grumble, and was able to carry on unmolested. Would have been in 2001, so don't know whether it can be true.
