War criminals and fallen tyrants and serious illness

Am I the only person who senses a trend that when war criminals or tyrants or terrorists are brought to justice they all seem to suffer some chronic life threatening disease?

Mladic is said to have a serous heart condition.
    Miliosevic died during his trial.
That Libyan bloke was released with cancer but didn't die within a few months
    Demjanjuk has pleaded ill health.

Is there some merciful virus that selects the world's biggest asswipes, but isn't quite advanced enough to do it on time?
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

It is not just war criminals.

Ernest Saunders (of Guinness) did do 10 months in jail in 1991 but his Alzheimer's disease that got him early release seems to have cleared up.

With him it was more the case that by releasing him the multiple questions about the safety of his conviction that would embarrass the British government all of a sudden went away.

Well the moral lesson here is quite clear, committing war atrocities is bad for your health.

Maybe they get easier to catch when they are a bit under the weather

            My thoughts exactly.

Plus if you are seriously ill in Western jails, they try and keep you alive as they don't want to be found to have killed you or let you die.

There as someone in your regular hospital staff may be tempted as they are human after all whatever oaths they have taken.

At least we know that in his case - he wasn't faking it.
