    Bank of Scotland

Offering a stunning 2.5 percent on a Euro account.

    What's the catch?

    Is it safe?

Anyone dared to put money in there?
    I'm alright Jack

It's variable rate, inversely correlated to mean global temperatures.

There seems to be no catch. Except they don't have a lot of overhead.

I use an account with their German part as a "parking" account. Generates nice interest.

NS&I inflation linked bonds look good to me. Just opened one for myself and another for the Mrs. 5.5% tax free, linked to the RPI, which personally I can't see coming down a great deal , if at all - hyperinflation appears just as likely if we get more QE.

Yes it's safe. It's absolutely safe, the safest thing there's ever been.

Bank of Scotland have a huge office in Rotterdam opposite the biggest casino in town and specially commissioned a pedestrian crossing from one to the other. Maybe that's where your money goes.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014
