New Scientist TV: Born to be Viral: Pool-playing robot rivals humans

It would be great one day to see them good enough to play world class players, and who knows, one day they might even be able to play a man's game like Snooker. Man versus cyborg.

I was reading about ball catching the other day, and I don't think it's fully understood how people catch balls, but one incomplete theory that made sense was that a catcher tries to keep the ball at the same angle to himself in its flightpath. For example as a ball descends, if the catcher is too far away to catch it, the angle would decrease, so he would have to approach the ball.

It's all a load of balls.
