HTC Sensation is another option but go and play with all of them.

mobiles.co.uk have a deal for the galaxy s ii on talk mobile £99 and £30 for 12 months.

e2mobile has a similar deal on the sensation HTC Sensation Pay Monthly - e2save.com - Mobile Phones

The Samsung looks good, possibly wish I had bought it but got the LG Optimus instead (not bad either.) Wouldn't go for the iPhone though

Its like asking which is better Apple or Orange. Iphone has IOS and Galaxy has Android.

IPhone has the advantage of millions of apps but Android market is not too far behind in terms of developers creating apps. Both phones work in a similar way but I would say the IPhone is slimmer and sleeker and people pay more respect to you when you have an IPhone.

I have a Galaxy and it has not given me any issues so far. The camera zoom isnt great.

That article hasn't got it quite right. The PDF vulnerability was identified and patched back in 2010. Whats happened now is that the Jailbreak technique developed by the guys behind jailbreakme.com reintroduces the vulnerability as a result of the jailbreak process, however they tell you this upfront when you use their jailbreak method and provide a patch to remove the vulnerability once you have done it.

Normal iPhone users are at no more risk now than before, it only applies to those who want to jailbreak their phone and there is a fix available for those that do.

I upgraded with O2 to a Galaxy S2 from Iphone 3G. No upfront fee and £5 less on the tariff too.
