    Swiss party demands Powerpoint's death

    Linky

The Swiss Anti-Powerpoint party, which was launched this week, has the sole interest of saving the world from the evils of powerpoint demonstrations.

In the outfit's blog, it claims that all these institutions use PowerPoint and about 11 percent of more than 4.1 million employees have to waste time assisting making presentations on a regular basis.
In Switzerland, citizens force a referendum on any subject. All it takes is 100,000 voters to sign a petition demanding one.
Behold the warranty -- the bold print giveth and the fine print taketh away.

Do they have a PowerPoint presentation on the subject?

No, but they do have an OpenOffice Impress presentation

The Germans are the worst for this IMO. I still have scars from one particular episode, a 4 hr powerpoint presentations of some sort of reorg, at one point they were going through about a dozen middle managers and telling us where they went to uni and where they used to work.

Get to the ******* point FFS!

This initiative would spell the end for Accidenture, Logicack, Crap Gemini and all the other so-called consultancy companies.

          That's why I support it.

A Java developer went through 3 interviews to get a role with a bank in Zurich.
He spent his days creating PowerPoints for his boss.
After six months he had enought and decided to leave.
He asked for a referance from his boss.
The boss said no, he could not give him a referance as he had not seen him doing any jave code.

            Got to love Zurich!

One finds the following maxim in most books on public speaking: “Address an additional sensory channel during your presentation. This way you increase the retention quotient and the effectiveness of the words.” So: If in addition to language heard (sensory channel ‘ear’), the audience also sees text or an image (sensory channel ‘eye’), the presentation is automatically better.
So basically by talking and farting at the same time I am a naturally gifted presenter.

                Awesome.
