    The Price off…

Tomatoes: £1.99 each or two for £2.00 at Waitrose.
    Red Peppers: 99p each.

    I’m in the wrong business.

No, Shirley's 20 quid a pop with, 30 quid without.

I would be surprised it they had £2.00 each, and two for £1.99. Having said that, i have seen funny pricing for lots of products in tesco, like £3.00 for a pack of 500g and £4.00 for a pack of 250g cheese.

There was that instance in some supermarket a few years back where you got a refund if you took bananas to the checkout, some people walked out with a trolley full and some cash in their hands!!!

Stock up while food is so cheap.

I'm buying tinned food. A double investment. Once in the food, and once in the metal tins.

One day soon sterling won't be worth a hill of beans.
Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it

It's only worthwhile if you can pay your utility bills with beans.

A Sainbury's near me is selling 5 bar packs of Snickers for £1, while the Pound shop charges £1 for a pack of three. Snickers are packed with calories and would last a long time. Not all branches stock them though, as with the 65p 1kg bags of 'basics' muesli, which seem to disappear shortly after they are put on the shelves, so I buy a few bags when they do appear. They aren't as nice as Alpen, but a day's worth of calories and roughage, etc, for 65p and no cooking required can't be bad! These would would also keep for ages if the packet were not opened.

Eat enough beans and you'll be nourished AND be able to cut down on your gas bills.

Earlier this week Tescos were selling corn on the cob for £1.49 for 2, or 2 packs for £3 (special offer!!). The packs of 4 were £2.99. Or you could buy the packs of 4 half cobs for £1 each!
