    Scotland Vs Norway

Two countries with the same population, both economies dominated by North sea Oil one country with twice the GDP of the other.

Why is Scotland such a poor performer?

I reckon it would do better under independence and allow the spirit of entrepreneurship that thrives in and around Aberdeen to spread accross the whole of Scotland.
Let us not forget EU open doors immigration benefits IT contractors more than anyone

Pointless wars, immigrants, large parts of England and Wales living on benefits for generations.

And Norway is not part of the EU, so not spending 100's of billions on that pointless exercise.

I'm voting UKIP from now on.

You could probably add the brain drain to that as well, a large number of professional level graduates have to go south/emigrate to get work, leaving behind a larger proportion of, well, let's say lesser wealth creators . Don't think Norway has that issue.

Anyway, think the boat may have sailed.

It's true. If I return home GDP will suddenly shoot upwards on onwards.

Jest aside, clearly the wealth of one country's natural resources is being exhausted for the feckless masses in the south.

The Norwegians invested their oil money in the future. Margaret Thatcher squandered the UK's oil money on mass unemployment in pursuit of an ideology espoused just as rabidly, and as much in denial of reason, as that of any Communist regime.

Did they also annouce they were going to sell off all their gold too, just to ensure they got the lowest possible price for it?

Perhaps we can sum it up as Britain having one tulipe government after another, and perhaps Norway having some governments that put the interest of their people first.
