    Hi All

Just wondering if somebody could help me , i am just finishing my contract and already have got couple of offers. One of the offer which seems far better requires SC and i just wanted to ask if anybody been in similar situation as i had a traffice offence ( 3 points + 60+60 fine ) 4 years ago.

I did my disclosure scotland and it came back fine , i am just thinking if somebody been similar situation and may be share experience.

SC is mostly about recent employment history (at least it was when I got it in 2007).

I don't think I was even asked about traffic offences.
If you find this post offensive, please insert "Chan" before and "tho" after, then it should be OK.

You'll be fine. The actual wording on the forms is as so:

      Criminal convictions

Have you ever been convicted or found guilty by a Court of any offence in any country (excluding parking but including all motoring offenses even where a spot fine has been administered by the police) or have you been out on probation, received a formal caution or absolutely/conditionally discharged or bound over after being charged with any offence or is there any action pending against you?
Always be completely honest and declare any convictions you had, they're looking for honesty more than anything else. A traffic offence should have no impact (unless your job involves driving; insurance increases because of it etc).

The whole point around clearance is not to get some squeaky clean jobsworth who hasn't even farted outside of a toilet. They want to ensure their staff don't have anything that can be used as leverage against them, so for example if you're trying to hide an affair, huge gambling debts, etc. These things can be used to blackmail you and if you lie about these things when going for clearance (and they will eventually find out) you don't have a hope in hell of getting clearance. The way they see it is if you try to hide it from them, it can clearly be used as leverage. If you're completely honest and tell it as it is they're fine.

Prime example, good mate of mine. Wife + 2 kids going for DV renewal.

Interviewer: So Mr.X anything you want to tell us about, affairs, porn, closet gay, etc
      Mr.X: Yeah I shag about a bit
Interviewer: Ah, oh dear, hmmmm, what would you do if your wife found out?
Mr.X: Move in with one of the bits on the side.
      Interviewer: Ah, okay, good answer.

      He got his renewal.
"I hope Celtic realise that, if their team is good enough, they will win. If they're not good enough, they'll not win - and they can't look at anybody else, whether it is referees or any other influence." - Walter Smith

On them! On them! They fail!

Yep, I've been through SC with current and spent points on my license. Just put them all down on the form and you'll be fine.
