    Calling all Taffy's

Need your help. I wants to go camping in Shell Island, Snowdonia sort of way. The missus doesn't like camping and has said she will go if she can stay in a caravan. I can't find any caravan places near enough.

Soooo, does anyone know the area well enough to recommend a caravan park/ cottage / b&b / hotel?

I found cottages but they were very dear > £1600 for the week, and seeing as it's only Wales I'm not paying that. (sorry Zippy)

Or, can anyone recommend a posh tent, that SY02 may like. Her key objections being nipping to the loo in the middle of the night, so some sort of portaloo tent annex could mitigate this.
Knock first as I might be balancing my chakras.

I've always fancied the hotel at Portmeirion or however you spell it.

Have you checked the availability of the chalets?

I automatically didn't as there are only 2 and I would stand more chance of winning the euro millions.

Don't think Shell Island is the place for your missus. I spent many summer hols there in a tent and have very happy memories but I went back for a day trip recently and facilities have not changed much !!
People just won't put up with what was normal back then - washing your teeth with a mug of water, digging a hole for the pan, living by torch/parafin light etc !!!
Kids will love it of course...

            .
£1600 per person per week seems reasonable to me at this time of the year.

She's bloody right. Find a hotel, cheapskate.

I'd drop the attitude before you travel, Goggs don't like being called Taffs.
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson

Probably why there aren't that many cottages available these days. :burninghousesmilie:
