kilo? $1850 per Troy Ounce; that's 31 GRAMS.

Does seem silly though, an almost useless amount of an almost useless substance can cost so much.
And what exactly is wrong with an "ad hominem" argument? Dodgy Agent, 16-5-2014

We have to have a benchmark commodity, but you would not understand that.

Why do you have to be so offensive? Did mummy not give you enough cuddles or did daddy give you the wrong type of cuddles?

I would not understand that because my IQ is too low. I am but a dimwitted techie. Doesn't matter; I know my place.

It has its uses, apart from its relative rarity; it's quite inert and a good conductor.

More and more uses for diamonds on the other hand seem to be found all the time, though one problem with those is that they burn nicely at quite a low temperature. Diamonds aren't forever.

And Diamonds are not rare, whatever DeBeers would have you believe.

Indeed. They still have an amazing effect on women though.

But nothing a cheapo fake handbag from that Nigerian chap in Rome can't achieve.
