First Prometheus (Alien prequel) and now a Bladerunner prequel.

Proper Sci-fi is back
Science isn't about why, it's about why not. You ask: why is so much of our science dangerous? I say: why not marry safe science if you love it so much. In fact, why not invent a special safety door that won't hit you in the butt on the way out, because you are fired. - Cave Johnson -
The Aliens one will be good I am sure. The Bladerunner one has got it's work cut out for it. The original was a cult not just due to it being a sci-fi, it's the whole atmosphere and its a bit weird. If they just do a normal brain out sci-fi job it won't match. Tron was horribly guilty of that as well. The first was a take on a classic story, the second was just a visual effects sci-fi so a total let down for me.'CUK forum personality of 2011 - Winner - Yes really!!!! -
As if the original Blade Runner wasn't boring enough, what's a 30-years later Ridley "clearly doing it for the cash" Scott likely to churn out this time? Will work inside IR35. Or for food.Comment

Hugely overrated film, IMHO.Comment

Why can't they just leave things be, any remakes/prequels/sequel years on never capture the feel of the original film.Comment

I know what you mean but I live in hope that someone will one day get it right, we may even get to see C-beams glitter in the dark near the Tannhauser gate.Science isn't about why, it's about why not. It seems Hollywood has run out of original ideas and is returning to "the classics" to rape, pillage and bastardise them.

I thought Tron: Legacy was pretty good. Better than I was expecting. One of the better sci-fi movies of recent times.
Maybe the new Bladerunner has a chance if they also do a reasonably good story backed up with superb special effects.
Though chances are it will be a steaming turd like the Star Wars prequel trilogy, and many other cash-ins plaguing Hollywood.Feist - 1234. One camera, one take, no editing. Superb. How they did it
