With respect, do you want us to change your nappy too?

You're supposed to be master of your own destiny, grasp the problem and telephone your agent - discretely of course!

        It's none of your business

.. not to put too fine a point on it.

All you should be interested in is your rate; what the agency has negoiated with the end-client is their business...

          Furthermore:

          1. Who agreed the "the agreed percentage for other contractors within the company"? If you weren't party to the agreement, what makes you think it's any of your business?

          2. "I have been told that means i can officially ask for this information from the agency" Tsl! Who went and told you that, without telling you why you can "officially ask" and how to do it?
What do you mean "officially ask" anyway? That you have a right to know? Why would that be?

Sorry: if you want to know, ask them. If they won't tell you, tough.

I disagree. The total rate determines in part how long your client will keep you. If you cost a fortune, then they will get rid of you sooner rather than later. As happened to a colleague. There are advantages to not having a high rate (and high agent cut).

All the client cares about is how much you cost, and your usefulness.

The fact that agents are not obliged to tell you how much they take is scandalous IMO.

Au contrair - I beg to disagree too. I side with Fungus here.

Contractors who don't care what they're charged out at have much more in common with traditional temping than they do contracting. It is literally your business to know what you are costing.
