In the modern world brands are simply marketing tools employed to get the feckless to part with their cash on the grounds of the "quality" associated with the brand.

Do you remember all those own brands that were sold by various independent retail chains up and down the country.

ISTR there was one called "Our", so you'd have Our baked bra.s, Our toilet tissue etc.

The one that made nelaught was the "My Mum's" brand. Sure that could be problematic when applied to certain hygiene related products.

Slightly off-topic, wasnt there a chain if stores called the Wavey Lion?

I buy the best stuff because I'm tight and dodn't want to waste money buying say 3 vacuums over 15 years than a single Miele for example.
You could say the feckless buy non-branded tulipe products and end up paying more.

Not all the Vaios are any good. You really only want the ones designed for their home market the rest are usually well tulip.

Also the macbook airs don't have enough memory. If they offered 8gb RAM I would now own one, they don't so I don't.
