Quite clearly an assault, but aggravated by religious prejudice? One witness said he heard 'Fenian Bastard', defendant says nope never said that, no other witnesses heard the comment, even though plenty of witnesses close to the incident. NL even said he didn't hear it.
You can see why 'Not Proven' has been returned (doesn't mean they don't think he didn't do it, just that they don't have enough evidence to say either way), still should have been done for assault though.
