Recommendations - eats and drinks in Laandon

Being a bumpkin don't get up to the smog too often, and when I do I seem to have hazy collections of where I've been..

As such, anyone got any good recommendations for drinks (including old man's ale) and a half decent place to grab some grub nearby?

Target location is within a couple of tube stops from Covent Garden.

    Cheers.

YOu can't go wrong with the Ship and Shovell or The Harp (both about 10 mins walk from Covent Garden.

For food - it depends what you like really. Have been to Wahaca (Mexican, very nice, fast service, reasonably priced, you can't book though), the Thai place round the corner from the Harp (decent service, not bad at all) and Pizza Express (what you might expect, but edible)

Thanks Zippy, should have remembered the Ship and Shovell - that's quite a CUK haunt

Counting House - Cornhill - another CUK haunt. An "ale and pie" pub - what more could you ask for?

If you want to treat yourself, Hawksmoor, near seven dials. Damn good steak.

Especially the Hawksmoor! Best steak I've ever had.

Great ales in the S&S and also the Counting House
