    Civil servants to strike

At least if they do strike it will help with reducing the deficit
"The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt. People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance." Cicero

I hope strike days are deducted from their pension calculations. I wonder how many months service are lost by a typical civil servant working for 40 years?

          6,000,000 workers x £10p/h x 7.5hrs = £450m saved per day

What do you mean its not that simple?!
