    Ealing

Anyone had any experience of driving to Ealing from the M3/M4 corridor during rush hour?

Everything tells me it would be a complete nightmare, but agent tells me it's nowhere near as bad as people imagine.

Job looks good - the only thing putting me off is the location. Train looks like a no-goer.

The M4 is not too bad but I reckon your problem would be the North Circular.

Yep - wondering about A40 as an alternative. Longer route, but might be quicker. There seem to be a few options - just fear that they all might be as bad as each other.

Well I'm definitely not commuting to Manchester.

I didn't think you needed the North Circular for Ealing.

Done it quite a few times(200 odd trips), closest to Ealing I've done into Acton, a few miles away and I've done it from starting at Andover, Junctions 3 and 4 on the M3.

Fleet services slows down and is annoying and then the approach to juntion 3 (Bracknell) is a real pain, thats where you can get the snag. Past that is fine, slow at Heathrow(use the heathrow slip on the way back) then M4 is good all the way down. There's a right shortcut at the Porsche garage that takes you through Chiswick this is the quickest route to avoid traffic.

Before 7.30 is not bad, 7.30-8.45 is just awful, and then leaving at 8.45 it's almost like there's no traffic. I used to arrive into the office for 10am and leave 6.30pm missing the traffic that way.

You can also cut the back route from Camberley up to Heathrow and then cut through, but thats for bad traffic days only.

Good call - it's nearly as bad.

There once was a young man from Darjeeling,
Who got on a bus to Ealing.
                    It said at the door:
                    "Don't spit on the floor."
So he stood up and spat on the ceiling.

                    Boom boom.
